Firstly: Stop pushing that VPN trash. It's disgusting how people who should know better still try to make a buck from sponsors like that that rely on half-truths and fear mongering. It doesn't do anything for security or anonymity.
Secondly: You exaggerate. SSL/TLS is mitigating nearly everything. Even if DNS is leaked to the attacker and even if they are MITM, it doesn't really change much of anything. The internet is an insecure medium for information transfer and security was made with that in mind. That's why end to end encryption relies on private keys that anyone other than the communication partners don't have access to. And so extending that threat model to the local network isn't that much more of a jump to make. And hacking wifi is basically impossible if you don't use WPS and also use a password that is 10 or more characters long and doesn't appear in a wordlist. The problem with having someone on YOUR wifi is that they get access to all the services that are usually protected by a firewall. If you have any sense, you don't run any of those services in a different network.
With encryption and certificates, the data is signed. The attacker can't use their own signing key because that will instantly cause alarm bells, and they can't use the original key because they don't have the private key of the original website.
Thirdly VPN doesn't help. They get the DNS request instead, and anyone down the line from them. For tracking protection, websites use you logging in, cookies or browser fingerprinting. IP addresses are unreliable anyway. VPN doesn't protect you from downloading virus.exe or calling microshrott support because the popup told them that they have a virus or pay that nice nigerian prince that wrote them that convincing email. The only thing that VPNs can do is block access to certain ip addresses, which modern browsers do anyway, and filter unencrypted traffic. That's it. Their only use is geo restriction bypassing based on IP addresses, which also gets less and less effective.
Lastly: modern access points and gateways mitigate arp poisoning attacks altogether. For example on my network this simply doesn't work at all.

When I set the spoofing target setted the spoof on and the sniff on, my other computer on which I was testing, wasnt opening any site, and I wasnt getting the urls, instead I got the routers username and password. What is this happening?
